Biology with Dr. Rick Kopp (May 2024)

Experience two of Earth's most diverse ecosystems by exploring both a coral reef and tropical rainforest in Belize. Students will be immersed in these systems as they study the fascinating interactions of their flora and fauna. On the coral reef, the longest in the Western Hemisphere, you will swim with brilliantly colored reef fish among the diverse assemblage of corals, sponges, and other forms of marine life. In the rainforest, observe iguanas, howler monkeys, and leaf cutter ants while gaining insight to the Mayan culture and its use of medicinal plants. (No prerequisite; honors credit option available)
